The Dell Precision 3520 is an imported entry-level mobile workstation for Egyptian engineers, students and technical teams who want ISV-certified graphics at an accessible price. The Core i7-7820HQ has 4 cores and 8 threads, two SODIMM slots take up to 32GB of DDR4 with ECC or non-ECC options, and a 2.5-inch SATA bay plus an empty M.2 slot allow storage expansion. Graphics and display vary by unit, from Intel HD 630 integrated for everyday use up to an NVIDIA Quadro M620 for certified CAD work.
Why Choose the Precision 3520
- 4-Core Kaby Lake ProcessingThe i7-7820HQ boosts up to 3.9GHz, handling CAD, drafting and office multitasking comfortably.
- Up to 32GB DDR4Two SODIMM slots take 2x16GB, with ECC or non-ECC options, so memory is upgradable and not soldered.
- Expandable StorageA 2.5-inch SATA bay plus an empty M.2 slot let you add a fast NVMe or SATA SSD without replacing the primary drive.
- ISV-Certified GraphicsUnits with an NVIDIA Quadro M620 (2GB GDDR5) are certified for professional CAD and design software, not just gaming drivers.
- Display ChoicesPick a value HD panel, a standard FHD panel, or an FHD touch panel at 300 nits.
- Entry Workstation ValueGet Precision-line certification and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity at a lower price than the 5000 and 7000 series.
In real work, the i7-7820HQ with a large memory pool handles AutoCAD and Revit models, multi-layer Photoshop files and everyday virtual machines comfortably. On units with a Quadro M620 you also get certified GPU acceleration for CAD viewports, and the second storage bay lets you add capacity as your needs grow.
Some honest limits. Every unit is a different configuration, so check the variant for exact RAM, storage, graphics and display before you buy. This is a 2017-era entry workstation, so the Quadro M620 is a light GPU suited to certified CAD viewports, not heavy 3D rendering or gaming. Units with Intel HD graphics only suit office and light design work. If you need stronger graphics or a newer platform, look at the Precision 5000 or 7000 series instead.
