The Precision 7710 is a desktop replacement in the honest sense of the phrase: 8GB of Quadro graphics, four memory slots reaching 64GB, and three drive bays in one 17.3-inch chassis. For engineering and design studios in Egypt it removes the usual compromise — you no longer choose between a workstation that can hold your project and a machine you can carry to the client. Configure the memory, storage and display below.
Why Choose the Precision 7710
- 8GB of Professional GraphicsThe Quadro M5000M carries 8GB of dedicated GDDR5 — enough to hold large SolidWorks assemblies, dense Revit models and 4K timelines in video memory instead of paging to disk.
- ISV-Certified DriversCertified for the applications studios actually run, so AutoCAD, SolidWorks, Revit and 3ds Max behave predictably instead of crashing on a consumer driver.
- Four Memory SlotsUp to 64GB of DDR4, with ECC supported — double the ceiling of the two-slot laptops it competes with, and room to grow without replacing modules.
- Three Drive BaysTwo M.2 PCIe NVMe slots plus a 2.5-inch bay let you separate your operating system, active projects and archive across three drives.
- A Screen Worth Working On17.3 inches of anti-glare workspace — FHD IPS, or the UHD IGZO PremierColor panel covering 100% of Adobe RGB for colour-critical work.
- Every Connection Built InFour USB 3.0 ports with PowerShare, HDMI, mini DisplayPort, Gigabit Ethernet and an SD reader, with Thunderbolt 3 on select configurations.
Where this machine earns its keep is sustained load. A 45W quad-core processor and a 240W power adapter mean it holds its clocks through a long render rather than throttling after five minutes, and the 8GB frame buffer is the difference between rotating a full assembly smoothly and watching it stutter. Rendering in Keyshot, editing 4K footage in Premiere, running simulations in ANSYS, or training a small model on CUDA all sit comfortably within what this chassis was built to do.
Know what you are buying. This is a 3.42kg workstation with a 240W brick — it moves between desks and sites, but it is not a commuter laptop, and battery life under load is measured in hours, not a working day. The Quadro M5000M is Maxwell generation: excellent for CAD, 3D and GPU compute, but if your work depends on the newest CUDA features or RTX ray tracing, look at a Precision 7720 or 7730 instead. And with two cores fewer than the later 8th generation chips, heavily threaded exports will finish faster on a newer workstation.
Who It's Built For
- The Mechanical EngineerSolidWorks and Inventor assemblies that need certified drivers and 8GB of video memory to stay responsive.
